Sony’s exciting announcement for PC gamers

Ana sayfa / Games

Sony Chairman Hiroki Totoki recently expressed Sony’s determination to increase its presence on the PC platform.

One of Sony’s key strategies is to invest more in multiplatform game development. For the current year there will be no new releases from existing major titles. But in the coming years, Sony plans to double the number of first-party games it will bring to the PC.

Totoki emphasized that the company aims to leverage the power of first-party games not only to boost console sales, but also to expand its presence on other platforms such as PC.

Sony now officially has a presence on PC, with several popular franchises such as God of War, The Last of Us and Horizon already on the PC platform. The upcoming release of Helldivers 2 for both PlayStation 5 and PC is the first phase of Sony’s plan to appeal to PC gamers.

According to Totoki, releasing it on PC is a strategic move to increase the net profit of Sony’s games department. Despite the increase in revenue generated by PlayStation, the company has struggled to translate this into a proportionate increase in profitability.

Totoki attributes this discrepancy to rising console production costs and the need to maintain competitive pricing to sustain sales.

In short, we know that games already in the PlayStation library are coming to PC. But in the coming years, games like Helldivers 2 will be coming to both PlayStation and PC at the same time.
